Child Fingertip Amputation Possible.
Graco Strollers has issued a recall on 1.5 million Graco strollers.
The company issued the recall Jan.19th because of the risk to children of fingertip amputation and lacerations.
Faulty hinges on the stroller’s canopy are a hazard to children. The canopy design poses a danger with every opening and closing of the stroller.
Graco acknowledges seven reports of child injuries; five fingertip amputations and two lacerations. These children placed their fingers into the hinge mechanism.
With Utah’s high birth rate and so many children, child safety is everyone’s concern. Please make sure you check what kind of stroller you have in your home.
This recall involves Graco strollers sold between October 2004 and December 2009. These strollers were sold at Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, Kmart, Babies “R” Us & Toys “R” Us and other retailers. The strollers were manufactured in China.
Graco are offering a free protective cover repair kit.
